TFT Operating room Registered Nurse
(8-hr days/evenings for 6 months)
Qualifications:
Registered Nurse current with the Ontario College of Nurses, BScN considered an asset. Must have a minimum of two years’ acute care, Operating Room and current emergency department experience.
Most hold and maintain current certification in BLS Heart and Stroke, ACLS Heart and Stroke, MDRAO, WHIMS, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training and current competency in IV and Central Line Therapy.
Responsible for all aspects of nursing care and provision of services in the Operating Suite/Recovery Room. Practice in accordance with and reinforce the most current ORNAC standards with the OR team.
Possess excellent communication and assessment skills, knowledge and practice of the Nursing Process, CNO standards and legislated acts to provide safe quality patient care to all age groups. Experience with computers including Microsoft Outlook, PCS/Meditech. Physical ability to perform job duties. Expected to share in the 1-in-3 On-Call Schedule.
